And this woman’s son died in the night, because she had lain on him.
Topic: Messages to parents
Introduction to 1 Kings 3:17-22
There were two mothers: one whose son was stolen, the other whose son was killed.
Development
2 – The child was stolen because the mother was asleep – careless parents can have their children stolen by the world, this happens at night.
3 – Instead of sleeping, you have to be vigilant, you have to pray for them, fast for them, take them to services, classes at Ebd.
4 – When that mother woke up, she looked at the child and saw that it wasn’t her son; this isn’t the son I once presented to you, this isn’t the son I raised in your presence, he’s someone else.
5 – The other mother, the child was dead – that mother killed her child, lay on her child and the child couldn’t bear the weight. The weight of parents’ problems on their children, the weight of bad examples, children listening to adult conversations, children listening to their parents criticize deacons, pastors, teachers ends up killing faith in the child’s heart.
6 – The responsibility for raising children lies with the parents, not the grandmother, the aunt or the neighbor; spiritual parents raise spiritual children.
7 – Two different situations, two different reactions:
8 – Reaction – one accepted the situation, she didn’t care about her dead son, the other wanted to fight to see her son alive.
9 – The child has been brought before the king, we must react, we must fight to keep the child alive, the mother who has the child alive, she will pray, she will fast for him, she will give up everything to see the child alive, go to the king.
