Jerusalem Wall – Preaching

Preaching Outline on Nehemiah 6:15-16 – “And the wall was finished in the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty-two days. And it came to pass, when all our enemies heard it, that all the people that were round about us were afraid, and were sore dismayed in their own eyes: for they knew that our God had done this work.”

Introduction to Nehemiah 6:15-16

That wall in Jerusalem was rebuilt in 52 days. It was done quickly, so it took everyone’s commitment and unity to get the job done. It’s hard to get a city’s population to carry out work for free and for the good of all.

Only a great ideal, the ideal of being a nation with the Lord as its God, moved those people to carry out that work.

Development

When the enemies heard that the wall of Jerusalem had been completed, they feared and fell greatly in their own conception, because they recognized that it was through the intervention of their God that the people had accomplished this work.

The people around them and their own enemies recognized that the Lord was in their midst. When the wall is built in our lives and the gates restored, our adversaries fear and decline in their own conceit.

We are currently living in difficult times similar to those experienced by God’s people in the past. The adversary has risen up with the intention of destroying Salvation in our lives. We must be in communion with the Lord and with our brothers and sisters so that together, in one body, we can reach eternity.

Conclusion

The attacks have no power over us. We look at our struggles differently because we see the wall of intercession between us and them. We are sustained by the resources we obtain by passing through these doors.

The faithful church has the same characteristic as Israel, it is united in the same ideal.
