Obedience – Preaching
Preaching Outline on Exodus 39:43 – “And Moses saw all the work, and, behold, they had done it; as the Lord commanded, so they did it; and Moses blessed them.”
Development
Obedience
Obedience is the emphasis that the Holy Spirit gives, at all times, to the servant who wishes to please the Lord.
As we read in chapter 31, the Lord chose men from among all those great people to build the tabernacle, but it had to be done in the way he had shown Moses on the mountain.
Today’s text says that they did as the Lord wanted, so Moses blessed them.
In the Old Testament, people obeyed in order to achieve faith, communion and blessing; in the New Testament, you have to have faith in order to obey. Saving faith, prophetic faith, faith that comes from Eternity and reaches man. There is no faith that emerges from man.
But faith is not for everyone (2 Thessalonians 3:2b).
The Lord is looking for the one to whom he wants to give this faith. He said: “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do all my will” (Acts 13:22).
To do all the Lord’s will is to do his will every day.
Every day, man chooses whether to do the Lord’s will or not.
Doing part doesn’t interest the Lord – Saul did part and wanted to please with sacrifices, but the Lord didn’t accept it: “… obeying is better than sacrificing…” (1 Samuel 15:23).
The reward for having built the tabernacle, as the Lord had commanded, was for Him to manifest Himself in that place and speak to man.
The tabernacle was the place of reconciliation of the sinner with God, through the blood of the sacrifice. It was the place of mercy and forgiveness.
Conclusion
The reward of the servant who obeys the Lord is to be able to enter the Holy of Holies (Eternity) one day and hear the Lord say: “Come in, you blessed of my Father, and inherit the kingdom prepared for you” (Matthew 25:34).
