Saved by Grace – Preaching

Preaching Outline on Exodus 32:19 – “And it came to pass, when Moses was come into the camp, and saw the calf and the dancing, that his wrath was kindled, and he cast down the tables out of his hand, and brake them at the foot of the mount;

Introduction to Exodus 32:19

It is noticeable that the people began to get impatient with the fact that Moses had gone up the mountain and was taking so long (in their view) to come to where they were, so they went to Aaron to have him make them a golden calf to be an object of worship, and so they gave the glory of God to the golden calf.

This is what happened to humanity at the time of Jesus, because they were aware of the prophecy regarding the coming of the Messiah, but they gave the golden pendants into the hands of the religious leaders of the time, because the golden pendants speak of what they had of value, which was their praise, but by trusting in the religious leaders of the time, and not paying attention to the prophecy, they ended up getting involved in idolatry, and giving the glory that was God’s to someone else (Isaiah 42 – 8).

Development

And it so happened that HE arrived:

Moses here was the intermediary between God and the people, and according to the prophecy in Deuteronomy 18 – 15, Moses spoke of one who would be like him, and Jesus was placed by God as the intermediary between God and man, just like Moses was there with the people, and just like Moses who after 40 days on the mountain came to the people.

Jesus came down from the mountain (eternity) after about 400 years of silence and came to the people, and although many knew the prophecy of his coming, some still think that he didn’t come, and are still waiting for the Messiah; we didn’t exist at that time, but the Holy Bible and the Holy Spirit tell us, he became flesh and dwelt among us.( John 1 – 14 )

Seeing the calf and the dances:

But how did He find humanity? The calf represents the desires of the flesh, and it was made from gold pendants that were taken from women’s ears, which speaks of power, because the power that prevailed was not of the Spirit of God.

But human, of the flesh, the gold was not in the ears of the women, because the true value was no longer in hearing (ears) the voice of the Lord, but in the worship of the golden calf, of the flesh, of reason, it was in the dances, which are the movements, sensuality reigning, that’s how Jesus found man when he came to this world; but in view of this, how did Jesus find us and find many today?

He threw the boards out of his hands:

Jesus came with the tablets of the law in his hands, because he came to fulfill it, because all the law was fulfilled in him, but he didn’t cling to it, so that through the laws, he wouldn’t come to judge and condemn man (see John 8 – 5 – 7), because no man could fulfill them, but he showed throughout his ministry that he is greater than the laws, and had the power to carry out his ministry (hands) without clinging to the laws, because through them man would be condemned.

He broke them at the foot of the hill:

And when he arrived on Mount Calvary, he broke the tablets at the foot of the mountain, because with his death and resurrection the period of the law ended and the period of Grace began.

Conclusion of Exodus 32:19

It was confirmed by God that the laws were insufficient to save, but the sacrifice of Jesus on Mount Calvary does have the power to save man, because salvation is not by the works of the laws, but by faith in Jesus.(Rom 03 – 20 – 22)
