The choice of the Lamb – Preaching
Preaching Outline on Exodus 12:21 – “And Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Choose you, and take you lambs for your households, and sacrifice the Passover.”
Introduction to Exodus 12:21
Moses was preparing the people of Israel for their departure from slavery in Egypt. A prophetic act that points to our day. Today, the Holy Spirit is also preparing his church for the exit from this world, the rapture.
Development
1 – THE CALL/CHOICE: “Moses called everyone”. Many are being called to hear in this hour (prophetic moment – last hour) a counsel: the counsel of life (ETERNAL) given by the Holy Spirit (“…he who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” – Revelation 3:22), and the counsel in this hour is: “CHOOSE AND TAKE THE SHEEP”.
The time has come to make a choice, to make the good choice, to choose God’s plan for man (THE LAMB). Salvation is man’s personal experience with God, it’s an individual choice – free will – man can accept eating the Lamb or not.
2 – LAMB: It was used in the priestly sacrifice to atone for the sins of the people – pointing to JESUS as the Lamb of God who came to be delivered up and sacrificed for the remission of man’s sins, giving him the right to Eternal Life through his Blood. JESUS (The Lamb) was killed on Calvary’s cross, but He rose again, and through His Blood, redeemed man from sin, giving him the right to Eternity. “JESUS, THE LAMB OF GOD WHO TAKES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD.
3 – SACRIFICE: It was for the preservation of life. There had to be a sacrifice of the lamb for the priest to enter with the blood into the Holy of Holies for the remission of the sins of the people. Only through the sacrifice of JESUS can man achieve forgiveness of his sins and preservation of life (eternal life). “Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins”.
4 – JUDGMENT: There is a judgment of death on the world (Sin) – Every choice has a consequence:
The Good Choice (The Lamb) – judgment of life – blood on the lintel – identity of the one who has salvation in Jesus – guarantee of life (Eternal).
The Bad Choice (THE WORLD) – judgment of death – The destroyer will enter your house and take your life.
Conclusion of Exodus 12:21
When man makes up his mind before God and CHOOSES THE SHEEP, he becomes the target of the Lord’s blessings, for he is preserved from the judgment that is upon this world (eternal death), having the guarantee of life through the Blood of Jesus – THE SHEEP.
