An incorruptible inheritance – Preaching

Preaching Outline on Acts 3:6 – Then Peter said, “I have neither silver nor gold, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk.

Introduction to Acts 3:6

In every biblical passage that we see in the book of Acts, we can see how much the Gospel was growing, there were many signs and wonders that confirmed the power of God and the project of Salvation in Jesus.

The Holy Spirit confirmed the project of Salvation in the lives of many disciples at every step, the experiences were great, and the text we’ve been reading is rich in many details and teaches us a lot.

Development

It was prayer time, and Peter and John went up to the temple to pray. It was common for people in need to come to the door of the temple and ask for help, and that day the Lord had set aside an experience of Salvation for a lame man who was there in the hope of receiving something material. Little did he know that God had prepared something incorruptible that would change the whole trajectory of his life.

Value of the inheritance:

First of all, when Peter and John came across the lame man’s request, they looked at each other. The Bible doesn’t say it, but they probably came to the same realization: “Is there anything more valuable to offer him than salvation?”

Man without God is unaware of the great value of spiritual things, until the day when the project of Salvation is revealed to him in the person of the Lord Jesus.

“I have no silver or gold”

That was Peter’s initial response. “For the Kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” God is not against prosperity and wealth, but the true Gospel makes us detach ourselves from material values and understand that the greatest value God has to give us is Salvation in Christ Jesus.

In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!

That man could now taste the blessing of receiving the project of Salvation, in that instant he received a visible blessing that would change his material life and would also serve as a testimony to what God had done in his life.

Conclusion of Acts 3:6

When man has a true encounter with God, he begins to understand the value of the Salvation Project, God’s inheritance for man is eternity.

The inheritance that Peter passed on there was received from the Lord Jesus, because he had already seen Jesus perform several healings and was now able to pass on that same inheritance.
