Our Salvation – Preaching

Preaching Outline on I Peter 1:2 – “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: grace and peace be multiplied unto you.”

Introduction to I Peter 1:2

In a world where uncertainty and the search for meaning are commonplace, the certainty of our salvation is the anchor of our souls. The apostle Peter, in his first letter, gives us an eternal truth about who we are as Christians: “Chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ…”. This beautiful declaration of our calling reveals to us a plan of divine love and grace that precedes us and will accompany us throughout our spiritual journey.

Development

Election is a sovereign act of divine love. He chose us in spite of ourselves, not because of anything we did. This truth is liberating, because we no longer have to try to be worthy of what we have. At the same time, we are chosen to be holy. The Holy Spirit sanctifies us and the image of Christ grows in us. “So, if you obey God’s will, you continue to be sanctified by the work of the Holy Spirit.” Therefore, to be elected is to live a life of obedience to God’s word.

The perseverance of faith is the proof of election. Christian life is not easy, and it is natural that we experience challenges and doubts. However, the certainty of our salvation gives us the strength to persevere. And it is in this context that the Christian community is also important, because it is through it that we receive support, motivation and friendship. Connecting with other believers.

Conclusion

Beloved, election is a wonderful mystery. But it is a divine gift given to us free of charge. Through Jesus, we have become members of God’s family. Therefore, may the certainty of our election motivate us to live in gratitude and good for Him and for our neighbor. May grace be multiplied with you all and peace abound through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.
