For all the people wept when they heard the words of the law. And he said to them, "Go, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions to those who have nothing prepared for themselves; for this day is consecrated to our Lord; therefore do not grieve; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. And the Levites silenced all the people, saying: Be silent; for this day is holy; therefore do not grieve." Wait for the Revelation of Jesus In verses 9, 10 and 11 of chapter 8 of Nehemiah we understand that this day is consecrated to the Father and the command to walk in Jesus led by the Holy Spirit. This day is consecrated to the Lord. Do not weep. It is the Lord's day. Don't be sad - Joy of the Spirit. Be quiet - Let the Spirit work: Heed God's direction. "The joy of the Lord is your strength"; "Rejoice with those who rejoice". "Then all the people went out to eat, to drink, to send portions, and to rejoice greatly; for they understood the words that they had made known to them." Neh 8:12. Summary - Let the Lord act. Give freedom to the Holy Spirit; - Don't cry; - Don't be sad; - Shut up; - Rejoice. This is a holy day, consecrated to the Lord.
