The Lord is the author of life All things were created by him.But it was not the Lord who created death; it entered the world through the serpent. At the beginning of creation, the only law that existed was: if man disobeys, he will die.And he disobeyed.And disobedience is sin and the price of sin is death.Death claimed man's blood throughout the Old Testament.The debt had to be paid, but there was no way to satisfy the debt. Esther's cry to King Ahasuerus represents the affliction of the souls of the past. Why didn't the Lord repeal the law? He has the authority to change times (Daniel 2:21) and could turn back the clock to the time before original sin.Or he could revoke the law that said that whoever sinned would die.But that wouldn't be an act of love for man. The Bible says that love never ends (1 Corinthians 13:8) - God's love.But Jesus said: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law" (Matthew 5:17). Jesus' words were strange. Just like King Ahasuerus': "The law that is written in the king's name and sealed with the king's ring is not to be revoked" (Esther 8:8). What to do then? The king ordered Mordecai himself to write a new law for the Jews and distribute it as quickly as possible to everyone who needed to know it. The old law was not repealed - there were now two laws.However, everyone who wanted to take possession of the second law had the right to defend themselves against death on the day set for judgment in the first law. The second law is the continuation of the verse in Matthew 5:17: "I have not come to abrogate the law, I have come to fulfill it". Jesus came to fulfill the law Jesus came to fulfill the law, paying the price for all the condemnation that was upon man. The first law spoke of death because of sin and it will take its toll on man on a certain day. This law has never ceased to exist. The second law says that the Blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin, and where there is no sin, there is no more condemnation and where there is no condemnation, there is no more death - death was conquered in Christ's victory. The first law was written and distributed by Haman - the enemy of God and man.The second law was written and distributed by Mordecai - the Holy Spirit. Everyone received the two laws and could choose which one they wanted to be in force over their lives on the given day.One was the law of death, the other the law of life.The Jewish people chose the law of life. It was Mordecai who informed about the law of life and he did this for all those he wanted to be saved - just as the Holy Spirit works to this day on behalf of those he wants to be saved. "I take heaven and earth as witnesses against you this day, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live." (Deuteronomy 30:19) No one wanted the first law, but the second was so wonderful that even non-Jews became Jews in order to have this law apply to their lives."...and many among the peoples of the earth became Jews, because the fear of the Jews had fallen upon them." (Esther 8:17) This is the verse that prophesies about the Gentile church.
